Thank you for being patient. I have made a new 13TB datastore and are moving around, and arranging the network so I can have 2gbit NIC teaming on my storage network. It is leading to unanticipated...
The server has become unreliable (probably due to the power issue) and I am working on virtualizing it onto my big iron server. The site is going to be up and down over the next week as I get it...
Needless to say theres been a few more problems. The first was an electrical fire caused in the outlet. Thankfully I was able to recover it. New 20A outlet installed.
Then after that,...
Both a RAID controller (the one on the motherboard) and a disk failed. This is not enough to lose our data, but it did make all Kitsunet sites (including this one) unavailable until I could replace...
OK the replacement came, and I have installed it. Thank you for your patience. :)
We had some downtime today, Kitsunet was entirely down due to a drive enclosure failure. I'm currently running them outside the enclosure and everything is good, but eventually soon i'll need to...
And now we're fully back. Added more RAM, now up to 96GB
If you are curious what backs this server: https://sysinfo.kitsunet.net/index.php?disp=dynamic
A NIC died on my server, had to move ports around.
Sorry about the little spat of downtime today.
I was trying to resolve a network issue and had complications with my containers (all of them)
On the plus side, i did find something that was slowing...
well needless to say the card replacement went well, no Bad Stuff Happening...
And polarizing the containers went well too..
I don't anticipate any more issues for a while. Again thanks for all...
Ok we're back, currently throwing no more errors at me, all is good.
Tomorrow I have a better controlller arriving, and when I get home from work, i'm going to try it.
If it works perfectly, then...
I apologize again for the off and on downtime.
That RAID of SSDs that the site is done is having issues. Theres no chance of losing the site or data but it is randomly locking up, and this issue...
We are back for real now. The data was on the wrong device. I had to move it.
We're back, sorry it took additional time.
For those into the technical, the site is now backed by 4 480gb SSDs in RAIDz1 (ZFS).
You should experience significantly improved speeds of access...

it will be this morn about 10am MST. I will do a final sync, bring it down, format it, and then copy it back. Its only about 250GB so I'm estimating about 1 hour.
Due to an issue with btrfs on my server, while I was attempting to clone the forums to make a VB5 upgraded one, it lost this entire forum directory.
I have restored from backup. 8 hours of posts...
I am sorry that maintenance took near 3 days. Everything that could go wrong, did.
The maintenance was for drives that were dying. 3 drives were, but only 1 told me they were. Because they...
The issue is now resolved.
Technical details:
We use a letsencrypt cert which needs to be renewed every 90 days.
To renew it, we have to prove we still own the domain.
In order to do that,...
Use: Add an html entity to a post.
[ ent ]<entity>[ /ent ] is roughly equivalent to the HTML code &<entity>;
Example:
[ ent ]#x1f98a[ /ent ]
Result:
#x1f98a
I have added the recommended format in the description when you go to edit the field, just cut, paste and replace :)
