I had a therapy appointment yesterday (via live video because of covid) and I was as honest as I thought I could be about my symptoms. She thinks something is going on (I don't want to tell what exactly) based on what I said. Regardless, I feel very fake about it like my symptoms are all just figments of my imagination. I regret honestly telling her anything. I regret it.

Thank you to most Werelisters for your good sense.

In Ontario, where we take COVID seriously, I still don't feel comfortable at the local restaurant on their socially distanced outdoor patio. Because while the staff wear masks, the other patrons are blissfully fucking oblivious to the pandemic raging around us. Any unmasked guy who pulls up to my table, as guys tend to do, immediately loses my respect. I keep getting hit on. I'm agender, but I present as female and masculine. I'm not especially attractive. So I don't understand.

STILL. Groups of randos approach me, talking about the blazing fast wifi, despite that I'm on my computer and listening to music and very much not interested in socializing with strangers. They offer me wings and sweet potato fries.

No restaurant-quality food is literally worth dying for. I might stop going there entirely.

Oh, and Cheetah, that jaguar story is heartbreaking. They pose almost no threat to humans, so the idiotic poachers don't have that excuse to fall back on. The Toronto Star recently published an article on rehabilitating captive jaguars. Here's a copy of the same article in the New York Times. Shit like this reminds me of the worldview I used to have that was ecocentric, and very much not anthropocentric. I'm definitely in between both viewpoints today, in the sense that I have two or three conflicting views on everything. I try to be a humanitarian regardless.

While I completely understand misanthropy -- oh, do I ever -- it frequently fails to capture the complex societal structures that kill wildlife, and people tend to wrongly blame overpopulation in third world countries, which is cold, unscientific, and flat-out wrong.

It's very wrong. The "rich" countries are the biggest consumers by far.

    EXACTLY.

I'm a socialist, and a communist by some definitions. Either way, what you said is absolutely true.

I'm so tired of people. "If she's an adult, she could leave but she kept going back to her abuser so..." So? That just shows you have never suffered abuse a single fucking day in your life.

No matter who gets elected, this country is going to fucking burn because the potential president is a fucking moron. Who am I kidding? It's been burning since it was founded and since the Natives were killed en masse and since the enslaved were forced to carry it all on their backs. This is the country being reduced to cinders entirely at last after a prolonged burn. There's no hope. This is the end of the country's existence.

No matter what way the election goes, its legitimacy is going to be questioned seriously, and I think things are going to be pretty bad.

Feeling kinda sad lately :c I've had some things lingering in the back of my mind for a while but I've tried to push through it. Finally reached my breaking point the other day and broke down for a bit. I'm trying to take care of myself as best as I can and pull through but I'm definitely not 100%. Ya ever just get in those "I hate everything, the world is terrible and im tired of living in it" moods??? Me rn tbh

Constantly. Mine usually goes like " I don't want to live on this planet anymore." ( Now their trying to take over space D: )

I usually try to find something inspiring or look for 'beauty' to 'take the edge off'.
