I play, but my gift giving is increasingly scarce due to me not going anywhere and my bag always being full at 900+/- 3. Estranged relationships right now lol. I try though.
I'm past that and need to battle someone in the great league for that quest. Thankfully I'll have my cousin tomorrow. I looked ahead and there's also trading involved..ugh (can't do that long distance I dont think)

Sent you a friend request, Vintage. Sorry I didn't see it earlier. You can battle online with anyone, but you can't trade, which is super annoying. I'm trying my best to juggle gift giving, but I don't have any stops that I can get to on a day to day basis and they limit you to 10 at a time (stupid). So when I can go out and get them, I'm stuck at 10.

I decided to bump this in case any new or returning members are Pokemon Go players. They recently introduced remote raiding so you can get raid invites from your friends all over the world. As a somewhat rural player, this finally gave me the chance to do legendary raids.

Right now they're doing the "Lake Trio" legendaries which is split between three sections of the world. So it's good to get friends that are outside of your continent to collect the other two.
